A limited monarchy is a form of government where a monarch serves as the head of state within the parameters of a constitution or established laws. In other words, the monarch's power is limited by law or custom. The monarch does not have full control and must operate within the framework of a legal system and government structure. The constitution outlines the powers and duties of the monarch, as well as the responsibilities of other branches of government. This form of government is often referred to as a constitutional monarchy. Examples of limited monarchies include the United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden, and Japan.
